DIANE ARBUS
Diane Arbus was not only a black and white photographer, but she was also a well-known writer. She was known for taking photos of "freaks", or people that were not considered normal. She would take pictures of dwarves, giants, and circus performers. She taught photography at the well-known Parsons School of Design and Cooper union throughout the 1960s. She was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship in 1963 which was renewed in 1966. Sadly, she was very depressed throughout her adult life and took her life in 1971.
